Position Overview:
Seeking a highly experienced freight broker to help launch a 3PL operation. This is not a back-office role—this is full-cycle brokerage leadership with the ability to shape strategy, process, and future growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Act as lead liaison between shippers and carriers
- Book and manage loads using both internal freight and newly sourced customers
- Build relationships, manage capacity, and maintain margin discipline
- Establish operational best practices and identify future hires as the business scales
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of brokerage experience with a proven network
- Background in carrier management, dispatching, and customer acquisition
- Experience in launching or scaling a logistics operation is a plus
- Proven leadership experience
Additional Skills & Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of supply chain management
- Familiarity with logistics software, CRM systems, and spreadsheets
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address issues before, during, and after shipments
- Skilled in negotiating optimal freight rates
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with carriers and customers alike
- Networking ability to build and maintain strong industry relationships
- Proven sales track record to close deals and grow revenue
